why yoga?

Today’s kids are living in a FAST paced world - yoga offers a non competitive space for children to take a time out. By encouraging the concept of slowing down and tuning in, yoga helps children become aware of the thoughts in their minds, the sensations in their bodies, and the feelings in their hearts. Through games, challenges, music, stories and play, children’s yoga provides a fun physical activity, while building essential life skills for resilience and compassion.

Why Little Oaks Yoga?

What’s different about Little Oaks Yoga is the emphasis on mental health. Being a trained therapist, my background and former experience helps me create sessions rooted in mental wellness - so, as the children begin to learn how to slow down and tune in, we take it a step further, teaching the tools and techniques for emotional regulation, stress management, and overall improved mood (HAPPIER KIDS!)

With practice, children begin to realize the power they have within and start to rely on themselves as a resource in their own well being -

simply by using the body, mind, and breath…

What To Expect

What can you expect? A lot of FUN! But there’s more to it than just that…

Each session emphasizes the well being of the whole child - physical, mental, emotional - and focuses on 3 components:

1) strong bodies

2) calm minds

3) loving hearts

Through games, challenges, activities, music, stories and play children practice the fundamentals of yoga postures and basic yoga principles in exciting and creative ways, making learning relatable… and a ton of fun.

What to bring: water and comfy clothes. Yoga mats are provided*, but feel free to bring your own if preferred.

*Yoga mats thoroughly cleaned using Manduka Botanical Disinfecting Cleaner between each use.
